Pachathuruthu Award
In the evaluation of "Pachathuruthu" (green islets) established for climate change mitigation and environmental restoration, the Anandavanam Pachathuruthu in Ajanur Grama Panchayat secured third place at the state level among local self-government institutions, after winning first place in Kasaragod district. The green islet is the result of years of dedicated efforts, featuring 2,865 planted trees and housing 50 varieties of flora—including trees, plants, climbers, shrubs, and medicinal herbs. It has also become a thriving habitat for diverse species of butterflies, birds, and small organisms. The award was presented by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, on September 16, 2025, at the Tagore Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram.
